Principal Archaeologist: Michael W. Tuma, PhD

Dr. Michael Tuma is experienced in all phases of archaeological research, including field data collection, laboratory analysis, statistical analysis, data interpretation, and technical report writing, with a technical specialty in faunal analysis. His consulting experience includes managing a wide range of cultural resource studies to support project compliance with National Environmental Policy Act, National Historic Preservation Act, California Environmental Quality Act, and California state laws pertaining to historic preservation of archaeological resources. He has experience among a wide range of scientific research projects, including ethnographic, ethnoarchaeological, and archaeological studies. He has authored more than 200 technical reports, published articles in peer-reviewed journals, and presented research papers at scientific meetings.
